Check out these fun filled events happening around Citrus County this week. With something going on just about everyday, you’ll be sure to find something for everyone in the family and community!
September 27th - Check out the latest exhibit at the Old Courthouse Heritage Museum:
“Stitches and Stories” Definitely an attention grabbing title, this exhibit showcases many different styles and sizes of quilts. Hand-made, machine-made, vintage, contemporary, bed spreads and even quilts to hang on the walls. The exhibit is open during normal Museum business hours, 9am - 4:30pm. The address of the Museum is 1 Courthouse Square in the City of Inverness.
September 28th - This event is a must see fun packed, new, and FREE event at Hunter Springs Park! Come on by the park from 4pm to 9pm and you’ll find food trucks, swimming at the beach, Live Music, Games, and after the sun goes down, they’ll be playing a movie on the beach! What’s not to love?!
September 28th - Or if you’d rather a concert series, come check out ATLANTIC CITY BOYS! This group is known for their popular cover songs from the music of the 60’s including The Beach Boys, The Drifters, and more. Atlantic City Boys have played in concert in places like Las Vegas and Walt Disney World and they’re here performing in Citrus County with tickets for only $13 per person. The concert starts at 6pm and is located at the Citrus Springs Community Center.
September 29th - This one is for all of our hard core athletes out there! Check out this awesome 3 series triathlon happening this Saturday from 6am until 11am at Fort Island Beach. The Three Series race hosts three options which include triathlon, duathlon, or aquabike! They will be hosting an award ceremony and providing refreshments. This event is hosted by DRC Sports so check them out to get involved.
September 29th and 30th - ALPACA MAGIC USA is hosting an Open House. Come catch a tour of the grounds and learn all about Alpacas and you will be allowed to feed them! You will also find things for sale such as local honey, goat milk soaps, and cool plants! The farm also has chickens running around and is full of all kinds of fun and eclectic decorations which make walking around lots of fun for the eyes!
September 30th - The Valerie Theater is hosting it’s Classic Movie Series which happens every Sunday at 3pm. To find out which movie is playing this Sunday, give them a call at 352-341-7850
September 30th - If you love great reggae music you have to make time for this one! Propaganjah Live in concert at Crumps Landing. Feel the percussion come to life with the beats of this Caribbean and R&B influenced band!
